The game’s primary currency, Gil, is essential for purchasing equipment, materials and other items. It’s also necessary for paying NPCs for repairs, Materia melding and more.

In FFXIV there are many ways to make money including completing leves, grinding dungeons and hunting monsters. However, we will be focusing on the most efficient and reliable ways to earn gil.

Crafting

Almost every game mechanic in FFXIV has some gil-generating aspect. Crafters tend to be the most consistent gil makers. They can repair equipment and glamour without the need for a Mender NPC, and their gear often sells for more than it cost them to make.

Retainer Ventures

One of the more steady methods for earning gil in FFXIV is through completing retainer ventures.
